I replaced my laptop battery and now I can type in bed for long periods of time and I OMG I love it so much It is awesome.
This is one of those things that I missed about my old place, but now that we've replaced the bed and the battery I can now do it forever.
Things have been very productive here on "PJs and Tea" day. I've got a whole bunch of work stuff done that hopefully pays off monetarily soon. I'm involved in four events this month which is awesome. I've got a research project for a local author too.
I'm listening to Daft Punk whilst blogging and sipping my cuppa Earl Grey.
Now to type up some meeting minutes, invoice a client, write next week's business blog post, and do some packing for our move at the end of the month, and today will be done.

Missing
I've known for quite some time that there's something missing from my life.
I think I know what I want to do, but as each day passes I'm certain that there's no one out there willing/able to pay me minimum wage to do it.

Speaking of minimum wage, my boss gave me business cards yesterday.
So I guess that's legit now.

I am constantly fighting the urge to Vaguebook.

I'm not happy.
I'm tired of being told that it will be better next year. While it is better than it was five years ago, I feel like I've been circling the airport waiting for a place to land for half a decade. I'm almost out of gas, and I'm being told... just one more year.

A guy tried to kill himself by throwing himself into the Detroit River.
He didn't jump off anything.
He basically swam out from shore. The Coast Guard picked him because apparently the Detroit waterfront doesn't have a swim-up bar, and it's illegal to enter the US by swimming.

Too bad that whole "Wet/Dry-Foot" rule doesn't apply to Canadians. Could save a whole bunch of future red tape for us.

Windsor is so close to Detroit that from one angle, as you look between the buildings downtown, that it appears the GM world headquarters is just a couple of blocks away. It's disorienting.

I listened to music today for the first time in... months. My ears have stopped hurting when the treble gets too high.
"Shuffle" decided that I needed to hear the music that reminds me of ex-boyfriends that lurks in the depths of my iTunes music listing.

This song doesn't remind me of any ex-boyfriends.

This is how my brain works
Where I work has rental apartment that's under renovation now that it is vacant.
My boss hired a guy to come over and refinish the 100 year old oak floors.
My boss said to the Floor Man,
"We need to replace a few boards from that window to that wall."
Since Tuesday, this song has been stuck in my head.

In fact, I insist that you shut it down after no more than five seconds.

Um, whut?
Annette Funicello died today.
What in the flying fucking fuck is an "MS coma"?
I've had MS for almost five years, I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVAH, heard that this was a thing.
How is this a thing?
Why did no one tell me it is a thing?
"Her family told Extra that Funicello passed away from complications of her illness, and they were by her side when she was taken off life support. Funicello had been in an MS coma for years."

My temp job gets easier but vastly more irritating as of tomorrow.

Barring something unforeseen happening, two weeks from right now I will be sleeping in a hotel in the Greater Missoula, Montana Area on the way to Ontario.
I have never wanted anything so badly in my entire life.

On the next one
Got my official "we're moving in a different direction" email from the person who interviewed me last Thursday.
Officially that leaves my job interview on Monday as my only real prospect for gainful employment. I'm still applying for stuff, but I am really frustrated.
My new project is going okay, I guess. I'm too afraid to check the analytics because I'll be sad and disappointed, I think.

Are The Who going to sing all of their CSI theme songs on the Grammy nominations?
On a related note, I only recently found out that the band that sings Pumped Up Kicks isn't the same band that sings We Are Young. I clearly don't pay attention to pop radio or watch videos very often.
Also, Adam Levine. I would love to have a highly inappropriate relationship with him for a short period of time.

Insert Witty Title Here
I did not get notifications about comments on my last post. I'm sorry that I didn't respond.
So, I didn't wake up in time to get to the parade. I was just so out of it.
I've been scratching out words on pieces of paper on my lunch hour, but I haven't input them into my project so I don't know where I am or how many of them there are.
I have been down lately. My life tends to be an open book, but this sadness is just too personal.
I hope that tomorrow brings something different. I am almost certain that it won't, but I hope.
This song gives me shivers.
It's not... What you thought... When you first began it...

Anthem - 2011
Don't be drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'Cause baby, you were born this way
No matter gay, straight or bi
lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
chola or orient made
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave

Strength
Today I broke a sweat at work. I was looking for a particular box in the office storage area but ended up having to move about 80% of the boxes to make sure that the one I was looking for wasn't there. It wasn't.
These boxes were heavy, but not irresponsible to lift heavy and I moved them all around with little difficulty. It was hot in the room as well, and other than a little pause to catch my breath because I'm woefully out of shape I did it all without getting exhausted.
Then I went up to my boss' office and purged the top of his desk of every useless printed email from 2009 and earlier (I found spam emails dating back to 2006). I have almost 1000 sheets of paper that can be printed on the other side, 3/4 full blue box and a full trash can of stuff that cannot be recycled or reused.
The cleaning makes me mentally feel better about my surroundings but the physical work from today makes me feel more confident in my body's ability to do its jobs. Sure I am not counting on it working well every minute of every day, but I have a little more confidence in my ability to do things that will help make me stronger and help me lose the 30 lbs I've put on since my legs started failing a year ago.
I've had Christina Aguilera singing in my head all day.
"Don't talk at me that way
Cos I ain't never gonna change
And if you're talking about my life
You're only wasting your own time"
I'm sassy today.
It feels a-MAY-Zing!
